Louise has 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Carne, Louise trained and worked as a lawyer at Clifford Chance in London and Singapore before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2007.

Since moving to the Cayman Islands, Louise has practised law for some of the leading offshore law firms including Walkers, Harneys (where she was a Partner for 4 years) and, most recently, Appleby (as a consultant). Louise has a broad range of onshore and offshore experience and regularly advises local and international banking and commercial clients, including hedge fund managers, on a variety of corporate, finance and fund issues and structures. Louise’s responsiveness to clients and her comprehensive legal knowledge of corporate governance in the Cayman Islands is a valuable skillset to any fund board. Before becoming a professional director, Louise was consistently recommended by key legal directories as a leading lawyer in the Cayman Islands.

Louise obtained a First Class (Hons) degree in Law from Oxford Brookes University in 1999 and a distinction in the Diploma of Legal Practice from Nottingham Law School in 2000. She is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales (non-practising), British Virgin Islands (non-practising) and the Cayman Islands.
