Laren Gillespie

Laren is recognised as a leading independent fund director in the Cayman Islands, assisting many of the largest and most respected global asset managers in the launch and operation of their funds. He has over 15 years’ experience in the investment funds industry, with significant experience on the boards of hedge funds, private equity funds, and investment management structures.

Laren is both a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder. He previously worked at Intertrust Fund Services (Cayman) Limited in the Cayman Islands. Prior to joining Walkers Fund Services in the Cayman Islands (acquired by the Intertrust Group in June 2012), Laren worked with a private family office and an international financial services firm based in the Cayman Islands.

Before moving to the Cayman Islands in 1998, Laren worked in the UK for Ernst & Young in Edinburgh, and for Arthur Andersen, specialising in international taxation. Laren is a past president of the CFA Society of the Cayman Islands. He received a joint honour Bachelor of Commerce degree in business studies and accounting from the University of Edinburgh in 1993 and is a member of the institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland, and the CFA Institute.
